Teachers will develop an understanding that will facilitate their ability to prepare their students for a society that is increasing its reliance on technology. Prior to the use of any online components in class, a health science teacher can introduce the concept of digital citizenship, so that their students are made aware of how they are to conduct themselves while they operate within digital forums. Blogger is an excellent digital tool that allows people to express their thoughts through written word, and leave it available for an audience to read and potentially comment on the material. This tool is useful in that it can be accessed through both computers and smart phone devices, which means that people can produce their ideas and commentary in the moment. Having such accessibility allows for continual dialogue and an exchange of ideas that might otherwise be limited to when face to face communication concludes. Blogger will allow teachers to continue class discussions after the students leave the classroom. Students will now be able to share and listen to ideas while expanding their knowledge of of the content material that is being learned at the time. Apart from the continuous content exposure, the students will also be provided with ongoing writing opportunities that will help strengthen their abilities express their thoughts in detailed, and accurate, written form.

Ideally, a teacher can implement Kahoot as an interactive game between the groups of students that will help determine prior knowledge, review information in order to assess progress, or prepare for an exam or summative assessment. The quiz format that can be developed will allow for differentiation by appealing to a number of different intelligence types. The quiz game provides multiple examples of visuals, and audio components that the students can associate to the information they have learned in the lessons leading into this review. The quiz also presents a number of video components that will not only provide visual and audio support, but also helps explain information from a different perspective that will allow the students another opportunity build further understanding. This will prove incredibly beneficial to EL students that are still developing their English skills. The visuals, especially the video, will provide with the contextualized information they require to give more complete meaning to the terms and concepts that are being introduced to them. While the responses will all be in English, some of the questions have been translated in order to help EL students associate English terminology with their native language. However, only some were translated, as the students are expected demonstrate some progress in the English abilities by being able to understand some questions, and all of the provided responses. While technically a quiz, the Kahoot program will allow the teacher to present the material in a fun and kinesthetic group experience that will allow for communication and group cooperation. As an example approach, the teacher may first present the questions, which the groups would answer for points, and then have a small discussion on the correct answers, and why the other choices were incorrect. This will provide the teacher with an opportunity to check for understanding, assess student progress, and fill any potential voids in knowledge. The goal with this activity is to associate learned information with a positive experience.

This site can help teachers in preparing instructions for their students, and can simultaneously assist students by providing the resources they require to expand their learning and thinking. The site also provides an extensive amount of videos, podcasts, studies, and recommended reading that will effectively supplement a unit on social and emotional health. This website is an excellent companion to a PBL activity that requires multiple steps, and various informational sources to complete. With the amount of sources available, a teacher can use the site to provide sources that the students must read and analyze before presenting their findings to the teacher and class. One application can have the teacher assign an article on the site, and then have the students prepare an engaging Powtoon presentation in which the rest of their classmates will benefit from the information that was gathered and prepared. The videos provided can be viewed together by the class, and then discussed in a group forum that will allow for multiple perspectives, and an extended sense of learning. The Greater Good Science Center is an excellent outlet for both the teacher and students to gain further understanding of social and emotional health through extended reading, listening, and viewing options.
